Since the fall, Mrs. Wire and Mr. Lehman have been trying to find a way to appropriately honor those who have qualified for National Honor Society. Given the pandemic continues to provide many challenges, it was more difficult than usual to come up with an induction that would satisfy all requirements. Some difficulties that occurred during this school year were getting the speakers together and some health and safety concerns shared by students. The original idea to recognize these inductees was to organize a pre-recorded version of the Induction Ceremony, but some students had concerns with the plan.
While it was difficult to make this work for everyone, Mrs. Wire and Mr. Lehman asked for input from the inductees about how the ceremony should take place. With the strict restrictions of COVID, three options were shared.
Speakers will record their parts and everything will be edited together as inductees’ names and pictures will be displayed. A YouTube linked will be shared.
Inductees will gather in the High School auditorium to record a “live” version of the ceremony. The link for the ceremony is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCT1aGDhw7K0Qtis6wYJ943w
The Induction Ceremony is postponed until the Spring to wait and see what the guidelines are.
As students gave their opinion, it was decided that the original plan #1 for speakers to record their parts and names and pictures will be shared on screen for individuals. Although it has been difficult to find the ‘perfect’ way to give attention to students who have qualified for National Honor Society, much thought and time has been spent to make this work. Thank you Mrs. Wire and Mr. Lehman for finding a meaningful way to honor these achievements by NHS students!
