This month, Mini-THON has planned two fun events to get the school involved and to raise money for cancer research. This month, they are running "No Shave November" and "Flocking"! They are both easy to participate in, and fun to see the outcomes, so be sure to donate!
This year for "No Shave November", teachers signed up to create a Donor-Drive page and place a can in their room for donations if they grow out a beard. Throughout the month, they will collect donations from students that go to Mini-THON, while growing their beard out as long as possible. At the end of the month, the teacher with the most money raised will have to style their beard the way the student they were paired up with chooses. So far this month, Mr. Smith has been in the lead. If you want your teacher to win, be sure to bring in some loose change!
Mini-THON this month flocks teachers of your choice for Thanksgiving. At all of the lunches, students in Mini-THON will be selling baked goods for $1. When you buy a baked good, you check off the teachers name on a list of all the participating teachers, then Mini-THON surprises the teacher with balloons and feathers in their classroom. With each baked good you buy, you vote for one teacher, and in the end the teacher with the most votes gets flocked. It's a great way to raise money and bring some fun into our school!
