Positivity During the Pandemic

Though it is very easy to only focus on the negatives, so many positive events are occurring all over the world. If you ever need cheering up, Google ‘positive current events,’ and your day should improve! Just this month, two (and I’m sure many more) absolutely beautiful events happened. In the beginning of March, a man, Steven Nava, saw his former substitute teacher, who was homeless because of COVID-19. Now that may seem negative, but because Steven Nava saw José Villaruel and started a GoFundMe, Villaruel is now out of poverty. He even just celebrated his 77th birthday! Villaruel was homeless, because he did not have a job and the little money he was getting, he sent to his ill wife in Mexico. A total of around $27,000 was raised for Villaruel, and he is doing so much better now!

The second adorable event that I want to focus on for March is the stray dog who just wanted a stuffed unicorn. In North Carolina, a dog named Sisu kept on going into a Dollar General to steal a unicorn. Sisu went into the store for the unicorn five different times, which led to animal control being called. The officer who came to get Sisu decided to be kind and bought the unicorn for the dog, then taking him to the shelter. Sisu quickly grew in fame and was adopted just a day after he was picked up, living happily ever after with his new unicorn and family!
