Northern's Production of Beauty and the Beast to be Live-Streamed

Even with school shutdowns, snow days, and COVID restrictions, Northern’s staff and students have persevered to bring Disney’s Beauty and the Beast to the stage. Many changes, such as wearing masks and having understudies for multiple major roles, have been implemented to keep performers safe and allow for the musical to happen. Although there have been challenges (if you think talking with a mask is hard, try singing) the show is shaping up to be just as excellent as always.

Many students have expressed disappointment in not being able to see the show live. Students involved in the show are allowed to have two family members in the audience for the live performances, but others are not allowed in as they were in previous years. Instead, shows will be recorded and streamed to those who buy tickets. Although it is disappointing that students and community members cannot support the musical live, it is important to note how many people love and enjoy watching the musical and wish to support the arts in our community. Appreciating the arts is one of the things that makes the community at Northern great, and the students are always happy to see people in the audience. Even if it can’t be in person, make sure you support the arts by buying your tickets to see the recorded performances.

Talented and hard working performers, musicians, stage and tech crews have all worked long and hard to create this production. Tickets for live streamed recordings of the show can be found on the Music Department website, on Mrs. Bissel’s website, or at this link. The show will be live-streamed March 12th at 7pm, March 13th at 7pm, and March 14th at 3pm. Buy your tickets now to support all of the hard work that has gone into this production.
