After the conclusion of the 2019-2020 school year, Dr. Eshbach stepped down from his occupation as superintendent of the Northern York School District, which is a position that he has held since 2012. During the summer leading into the 2020 school year, Mr. Steven Kirkpatrick assumed the position of superintendent. He would like to introduce himself to those in Northern High School and those within the district.
"I earned a Bachelors of Science in Education in 1992 from Shippensburg University and later earned a Masters in Education Administration and Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility also from Shippensburg.
Prior to starting at Northern, I spent my first 27 years working in the Cumberland Valley School District. In that span, I had a wide range of roles and responsibilities starting as an English teacher and coach, then a high school assistant principal and building principal, and, finally, the assistant superintendent. For the nine years as an assistant superintendent, I provided leadership in three distinct capacities: secondary education; instruction, assessment, and professional development; and student support services.
On July 1, I officially started as Superintendent for Northern. Since that time, it has been my privilege to get into schools to meet and get to know our amazing staff and students. I’m also humbled to work alongside such a talented administration team committed to providing the support, opportunity, and purpose necessary for students to be successful."
Steven Kirkpatrick, superintendent of the Northern York County School District.
