Prom, like other events this year, looked very different but was enjoyed by many. The school board approved one event that the senior class could collectively vote on having. The seniors chose to have a prom and so the prom committee started planning. Through this difficult year, we knew there would be a lot more issues with restrictions and where to have it. In the end, it was decided on having it on the soccer/field hockey field behind the school. It was a gated area where we could fit everything that was wanted at prom. This allowed us to offer prom to every senior plus one date that they chose to bring.
Congratulations to the prom queen, Kristen Cassar and prom king, Jeremy Rodgers. And a special congratulations to the rest of the wonderful prom court. This included Jon Barrett, Bay Blaschak, Nick Fekete, Jordan Heisey, Zach Mowchan, Jeremy Rodgers and Paul Walters for the guys. For the girls it was Chloe Stonesifer, Bella Schmitt, Kylie Miller, Kristen Cassar, Abby Bonin and Kayleigh Wood.
At prom, there was a red carpet under a beautiful archway which was constructed by Miss King’s Aunt Wendy. This led into a big wedding tent, and in the tent there was the DJ and multiple dance floors to keep everyone spread out but still having fun. Near the concession stand, there was a big inflatable axe throwing game that people could play if they chose. On the other side of the tent, there were two food trucks set up with tables to sit and eat at if people got hungry and each senior was given a voucher for a free funnel cake, which was a very nice bonus. Towards the baseball field, there were a variety of yard games for those who attended to play, including spikeball, cornhole, and other games. There was a photobooth and many places to take pictures with friends. Overall, the event was setup nicely and it was a lovely evening. So, with prom being a big question mark this year, it was a well deserved and enjoyable event for all who attended.
